I have a cage for 2 male rats and I have a person offering me a hedehog and I know the lady with piglets and they wont get very big! But I’m lost because I could only have one of these because of my parents. SO which one should I get? Please help and tell me why I should get it! I live in Edwardsville Illinois and I’m looking for a pot bellied pig for a pet. I want a baby but I can’t find a place to go buy or get a baby pot pellied pig. Can someone help?

I pot bellied pig had 6 piglets today. It was very cold out and 4 of them succumbed to the cold. She was not laying on them keeping them warm like she should have been. I have 2 that have survived and I currently have them in the house. I would really like to try to give them back to her to see if she would take to them…every 2 hour feedings does not sound fun to me. But I do not want to do that if she would not take them. It is way too cold!!
Does anyone have any advice?

We just recently added a pot bellied pig to our family and she is wonderful! She is a house pig and leesh trained. We are discussing if we want to have her spayed or if we want to let her have piglets and then spay her…. we are thinking of breeding her with a kune kune or another smaller pig breed, but cant find any farms that sell semen for the smaller breeds.
Since we got our pig we have had 5 offers for people who want to buy her. In our region it is a new thing to have a pet house pig and lots of people want one. All 5 of these offers have been people we know so yes, we do have homes ready for the piglets. These are smaller pigs not the normal farm hogs most people think of and they are easily house trained and are GREAT additions to a family. We want her to experiance motherhood and not miss out on it before she is fixed.
Piglets are adorable but they tend to turn into fat monsters as they reach adulthood. Is there a breed that is relatively small, slim (i.e., not pot bellied) that looks cute and makes a good pet?
These cute little potbelly piglets were just born the day the video was taken and are premature’d, thus the mother would not accept them so we are now hand feeding and caring for them, they are doing allot better then they were before so thats great!! they like to scream allot too!! when they are hungry or want to be held!!!

I’ve been looking into getting a pot belly pig more and more and I can’t help but wonder if they’re soft. The piglets always look very silky to the touch. Unfortunately the only step I haven’t taken yet is to visit a pig and see if I really want to live with one.
